Bodysuit – H&M | Shorts – Pistola | Choker – Dogeared | Sunglasses – Gentle Monster | Shoes – Asos

Deuces to spring and hello to summer!

I can tell you right now that bodysuits are very much a staple in my summer wardrobe. Remember when everyone cared about panty lines? It seems silly now since bodysuits are everywhere, creating that indent we all used to avoid.

But hey, if you are still not into it, there are plenty of thong bodysuits. My opinion? Embrace the bodysuit booty indent. You’re welcome.

Dress – H&M | Boots – Saint Laurent | Sunglasses – Gentle Monster | Crossbody – YSL | Choker – Dogeared

I have always been a believer in the little black dress. This H&M crepe dress is full of detail and you all know how much I love tassels. Add a fun sleeve and a victorian touch (like the great button and ruffle details) and I’m SOLD.  The victorian elements surprisingly add just the right amount of feminine touch without being overkill for me.

I added my delicate leather Dogeared choker, floral leather Saint Laurent boots, and of course this amazing YSL cross body. The tassel detail on the bag pairs perfectly with the victorian details on the dress. Each element has a grungy edge while still maintaining delicate femininity. The “Big Bully” Gentle Monster mirrored aviators are all black perfection.

T-shirt – Eleven Paris (alt color) | Skort – Maje | Shoes – Banana Republic (similar)|Sunglasses – Karen Walker

You know when you have just finished a massive shopping day at a department store and all you want to do is get out of there to refuel and unwind a bit (its serious cardio people!)

You are about to exit and try with all of your might not to get drawn into another section of the store. You almost make it out but your eyes are quickly drawn to something in the far corner and you almost avoid it. But you can’t help but turn around, back track, find your size, and say “I’ll take this also…”

That is what happened to me with the “Karl is My Father” shirt from Eleven Paris. I mean, I couldn’t pass it up. I just couldn’t do it. Actually, come to think of it, the same thing happened to me with this Maje skort. I had already gone through checkout at Maje and as I was placing my wallet into my purse this little number caught my eye. And now here we are, with this spin on a feminine preppy look.

This Maje skort? PERFECT for summer. Literally fits into any style genre and lets face it….we all should have known that skorts would be cool again….

Also, side note. When I wear this tee out in public I remember that everyone has had different points of reference throughout life and most people I come across have no idea why I have a shirt that says “Karl is My Father.” Some even ask if, well, Karl is my father haha. It makes me smile when I receive a few knowing smirks while wearing this out and about in LA. I make a mental note. They are part of my tribe.

ANOTHER NOTE. My friend Lexi dressed up as Karl Lagerfeld one Halloween and it was EVERYTHING. She killed it. Anyway…

Blazer, blouse, shorts – The Kooples | Sunglasses – Dior | Shoes – Via Spiga

I have told myself I feel uncomfortable in color so much lately that I started to really believe it. Colors? Prints? Not me. So imagine my surprise when I found myself drawn to this floral and white blazer in The Kooples section of Bloomingdales.

The delicate white blouse was the perfect addition to the blazer, with just the right amount of femininity and edge.

I mixed and matched the army green shorts (white floral print crepe pants are also available) because I am new to the whole color and prints thing, and despite how great I think they look on other people, white pants or shorts are just not my cup of tea.

I did however purchase the black printed blazer/short combo coming soon to the blog.

What I learned from all of this? The Kooples is one of my favorite brands. Yep. I feel that strongly about it.

Most pieces are very classic but always with a twist. The blouses are lightweight and feminine, which anyone would get tons of use from and, for all occasions. The mix and match potential is fantastic:)

Tee dress – Reckless Girls | Shoes – Puma Fenty Trainer by Rihanna (sold out, similar here*)

Back to black. I’ve been trying out color for a bit, and while it was fun for a minute, I will always be happiest and feel most myself in black. This Young & Reckless tee dress is so fun and easy. I had to pair it with my favorite trainers:  Puma Fenty Trainer by Rihanna. So comfortable, so sleek. Basically, if I had to pick a theme song to go with this simple sporty look, it would be “One big room, full of bad bitches…” If only all the bad ass chicks I know were in these pictures with me. Possible future blog post?!

Side note: I really need someone to braid my hair like this every day before boxing in the morning…any volunteers? K, thanks.
